Visitors

policy
Download

Allowing unauthorized, unidentified strangers to wander through company facilities poses risk of violence, theft, industrial espionage, or sabotage. If proper safeguards are not in place, visitors can be exposed to workplace dangers of which they may not be aware. The presence of visitors may create distractions and create safety concerns for employees and visitors alike.

Visitor policies are occasionally omitted from policy manuals because employers simply instruct front office employees that no unauthorized person may enter. However, if someone enters by another door or slips past the front desk, and supervisors are not trained to report an unfamiliar individual, the personal safety of employees, the efficiency of operations, and even trade secrets may be compromised. Use this Visitors policy template to create a policy that fits the needs of your organization.
