Screensavers

policy
Download

Many employers store confidential or legally protected information on their computer systems and require employees to keep timed screensavers on their computers to protect such information. Generally, employers require employees to select a screensaver that is professional in appearance but should keep in mind employee morale when setting restrictions. For example, many employees use photos of their children, spouses, pets, or other personal favorites as screensavers. Similarly, they may use their favorite picture of a lake or other pastoral scene as a screensaver in order to reduce stress. Employers should weigh their business requirements against the value of allowing employees some discretion in the selection of a screensaver. Use this Screensavers policy template to create a policy that fits the needs of your organization.
