Internet
Employees can readily use the company’s Internet connection while at work. Employers must set boundaries for these activities to avoid disasters such as a virus or worm infecting a key database or system or the insertion of spyware to steal trade secrets. The creation of an Internet policy cannot occur in a vacuum - it must be related to your policy regarding e-mail, voice mail, and the like. Employees must be made aware that the company will not tolerate discriminatory, offensive, or pornographic material placed on its computer system. Employees must also know that access to the Internet cannot affect their productivity or the quality of their work. Use this "Internet" policy template to create a policy that fits the needs of your organization.
