With the stroke of a pen, fundamental parts of our government, of our system of justice, of our economy, of our border, even of our foundational Constitutional principles are being altered or challenged.

In less than a week, re-elected President Trump has sought to expand the power of the ”Imperial Presidency” beyond anything contemplated in our 249year history. Government workers are either sent home or ordered to return. Immigrants seeking legal entry are stopped in mid-step. Routine practices to hire fairly are demonized and curtailed. Armed rioters freed and empowered; allies threatened; neighbors accused; partners mocked; government workers ordered to become the president’s cadre of spies to root out every trace of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as if it were a plague.
