OFCCP announces opening of contractor portal

On March 25, 2024, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced it would open the federal contractor portal for covered contractor certification on April 1. Current contractors must certify their compliance by July 1. New contractors—which have 120 days to develop their AAPs—are required to register compliance within 90 days of developing the AAPs.

The OFCCP announced the updated Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) hiring benchmark of 5.2% effective as of March 31, 2024.

OFCCP signs joint statement on equal opportunity of automated systems

The Department of Labor (DOL) signed on to a joint federal agency statement to enforce civil rights and related federal laws on the use of automated systems including artificial intelligence (AI). The other signatory agencies include the Department of Justice, Department of Education, Department of Homeland Security, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Housing and Urban Development, and Health and Human Services.
