When MS employees miss work for subpoena
Q What is an employer’s obligation to pay an employee who has to miss work because of a subpoena that isn’t job-related? Is it similar to jury duty leave?
In Mississippi, there isn’t a statute requiring an employer to pay employees who are subject to a subpoena for the time away from work. Further, there isn’t a statute generally addressing an employer’s obligations to employees who are the subject of a subpoena.
In addition, it’s worth noting that Mississippi’s jury leave law doesn’t require employers to pay employees during leave for jury duty.
