Try these tips for greater productivity in 2026

Time is a limited resource, so we need to find ways to make it stretch as far as possible. Here are some thoughts from Elizabeth Grace Saunders—mixed with a few of my own—from her article “5 Strategies for Getting More Work Done in Less Time,” which appeared in the Harvard Business Review on January 7, 2019.

Clarify expectations

Fear tends to paralyze us. How many times have you gotten an assignment but stayed silent on what you didn’t understand out of fear of looking dumb or getting caught up in the gears of hierarchy? When we don’t clarify “expectations,” we can end up wasting time. But clarifying questions can help:

·     Do you need a written memo, or will a verbal report fit your needs?
